CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Craniosacral therapy (CST) uses a gentle touch to examine and manipulate the joints in the cranium or skull, parts of the pelvis, and spine. It also allows the therapist to assess and treat the motility and mobility of the cranial bones which can relieve tension in the central nervous system and promote a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain. It can be used for many conditions like cervicogenic headaches, sinuses headaches, TMJ disorders, vestibular dysfunction, concussion and whiplash injuries, spinal disorders, and many others.

VESTIBULAR THERAPY

Are you feeling dizzy? Vestibular rehabilitation is an exercise-based program designed by a specialized physical therapist to improve symptoms related to balance and inner ear disorders. People with vestibular disorders can experience problems with vertigo, dizziness, visual disturbance and/or imbalance. Other issues like nausea, vomiting, reduced ability to focus or concentrate can be secondary to vestibular disorders. Once your physiotherapist has identified the problem they will prescribe a home exercise program which may consist of:

1) Habituation

2) Gaze Stabilization

3) Balance Training.

For patients that present with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) different repositioning exercises can be performed for diagnosis and treatment.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Have a chronic tendinitis/tendinopathy that just isn’t healing with traditional therapy? A shockwave is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful spots and myoskeletal tissues with subacute, subchronic and chronic conditions. Shockwaves are defined by the shape of the pulse and energy/pressure. This energy is created by transferring compressed air under large pressure from the main devices into the applicator. The energy values of Shockwave Therapy are low enough to deliver gentle therapy but high enough to promote physiological changes to the tissue and trigger tissue healing.

Medical effects of Shockwave Therapy include:

– Dispersion of pain mediator “substance P”.

– Stimulation of collagen Production.

– New Blood Vessel formation.

– Reversal of Chronic inflammation.

– Dissolution of Calcified fibroblasts.

– Release of Trigger points.

VISCERAL MANIPULATION

Visceral Manipulation (VM) is a gentle manual therapy that aids your body’s ability to release restrictions and unhealthy compensations that cause pain and dysfunction. VM does not focus solely on the site of pain or dysfunction, but evaluates all of the viscera and organs to figure out the cause of the digestive issues which can often be linked to musculoskeletal issues as well.
